UniLaw’s Lawyer for a Day is an exhilarating and unique insight into life as a lawyer for GCSE and A-Level students, designed by UniLaw’s elite team of top barristers and solicitors, an influential judge, law students and UCAS law experts, where you are the lawyer.
You will work in small groups preparing your client’s case with the help of lawyers. Then you will become the lawyer in the actual moot courtroom, arguing your case in front of a judge, cross-examining witnesses and appealing to jurors to try and win your case.
You will gain a plethora of skills on this day which will give you a competitive edge over other applicants including: legal knowledge, self-confidence, commercial awareness, teamwork, professionalism, interpersonal skills, reasoning skills, and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely.
You can use the skills learned on Lawyer for a Day in your personal statement and interviews to demonstrate your commitment and suitability to the legal career. You will also be presented with an official work experience certificate which you can add to your application.
You will finish the day with a realistic understanding of the legal career, a thorough knowledge of the English Legal System and a clear idea of whether law is the right career for you.
You do not need to have any prior legal knowledge or be studying A-level law to take part in Lawyer for a Day.
